Cowboys and Aliens

Cowboys & Aliens

Cowboys & Aliens

Score: 3/5

What Cowboys & Aliens lacks in storytelling and script writing makes up for it in the action and non-stop thrill departments. It lacks depth when it comes to the core story and meaning, but with the beautiful landscapes, superb acting by Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford and the anticipation of seeing an alien for the first time in the film soars high above it’s shortcomings. The premise sounds silly, that’s obvious, but once you sit down and really get into Cowboys and Aliens, it won’t let up and you won’t leave your seat.

At first, Cowboys & Aliens looks like any other Western, such as 3:10 To Yuma or an old Eastwood flick, but soon enough, the aliens come to haunt the cowboys and threaten their existence, then it’s a total war. There is always something exciting lurking around each corner, and there is great chemistry deep within it’s cast. I can’t recommend this movie enough for fans of action movies such as Iron Man or Mission Impossible. The two leads are James Bond and Indiana Jones, how can you go wrong?! Cowboys & Aliens is high budget, high octane and a sheer joy to watch from start to finish. Although it is action-packed, don’t be surprised if you are left with an empty feeling due to the poor story line and script writing.
